Hirotoshi Hayashi gained an MBA from the University of Chicago. After a spell with Daiwa Securities he joined the Tokyo office of the investment banking arm of Swiss Bank Corporation where he was responsible for a number of ground breaking transactions.

In 1993, Mr. Hayashi was one of the founding directors of London & Oxford Capital Markets plc where as a director he has responsibility for the firm's Tokyo office and Far East business activities.
